Lovecraft’s Whisperer scheduled by Radiotheatre

Radiotheatre will present its 14th annual H.P. Lovecraft Festival at UNDER St Marks (94 St. Marks Place) from July 23 to 27. The horror story master’s The Whisperer in the Darkness is this year’s production, about visitors from outer space who are living in remote woods of Vermont. Dan Bianchi’s adaptation features an original orchestral score, projections, and cinematic sound design. Performances are at 7 p.m. July 23–25; at 7 and 9 p.m. on July 26; and at 3 p.m. July 27. Ensemble Shakespeare Company will present A Midsummer Night’s Dream for eight performances at the Flea Theater (20 Thomas St.) between July 17 and 27. Directed by Dylan Diehl, the production of Shakespeare’s comedy, written around 1595, will play at 7 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
