Ice Factory vets curate eight-week run

The 25-anniversary Ice Factory Festival will be curated by some of its alumni during its run from June 27–Aug. 18. Ice Factory 2018 will present eight new works at the New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher St.) in the eight-week run. The offerings include One Small Step, about the Apollo moon landing; Love, a romantic two-hander with original music; Dear Diary LOL, an ensemble comedy based on real-life tween diaries; The Hole, focusing on two inmates in solitary confinement; and Madame Lynch, which elaborates on the true story of Eliza Lynch (1833–86), an Irish prostitute who became “de facto Empress of Paraguay” in the 19th century. This year’s programming will also include “Fridays on Ice,” a late-night performance salon where artists create work not usually seen in downtown theaters.
