Readers,
Nostalgia for the '80s appears to be running high
off-off Broadway. Last week we had an unconventional adaptation
of the 1984 film The Karate Kid with
It's
Karate, Kid! The Musical, this
week we find a parody of the John Hughes cult classic The
Breakfast Club with You
See Us As You Want To See Us...Reflections From the Breakfast
Club.
For
those of you who want to get into the holiday spirit, be
sure to check out the many holiday theater offerings presented
this season such as Personal Space Theatrics' musical production
of Charles Dickens' classic A
Christmas Carol and a comic
production of the same tale by Nosedive Productions, A
Very Nosedive Christmas Carol.

Conquest
of the Universe, Charles Ludlam's
1967 retelling of Marlowe's epic masterpiece Tamburlaine.
The
Hasty Heart, originally produced
on Broadway in 1945 and subsequently made into a feature
film starring Ronald Reagan, a touching comedy about a group
of soldiers in a British Army hospital in Southeast Asia
in the waning days of World War II.
The
Pathological Passion Of The Christ,
written and directed by Dario D'Ambrosi and inspired
by D'Ambrosi's experience as an actor in Mel Gibson's controversial
film.

Club,
a comic tribute to the John Hughes classic 1980s teen
angst film with tunes from the original soundtrack and characters
tweaked for comic effect.
