Other
new reviews include:
A
Scrap of Paper,
originally presented on Broadway in 1878,
the production has been updated to a delightful
screwball comedy, set in the enchanting
1930's, where one long-lost love letter
puts everyone in a tizzy!
Electra
Speaks, a new play
by
Laura Camien, that takes an insightful
look into the neurosis, mind games, and
social conditioning that bar us all from
saying what we really mean.
Hell
Meets Henry Halfway,
a
new black comedy by Adriano Shaplin, performed
by the Philadelphia-based Pig Iron Theatre
Company, and based on Polish author Witold
Gombrowicz's gothic novel Possessed
that takes a look at the darker
side of human nature.
Nixons
in Purgatory, a
new comedy by Bernadette Flagler in which
a deranged supermodel collides with Pat
and Dick Nixon as they paddle through
purgatory.
The
Female Terrorist Project,
a new play by Ken Urban that chronicles
our culture's fascination with violent
women and the motives that drive them
to perform tremendous acts of violence.
The
Talk of the Town,
a new musical by Ginny Redington and Tom
Dawes that tells the story of the ten-year
friendship of the wittiest literary lights
of the 1920's, including Dorothy Parker,
Robert Benchley, George S. Kaufman and
Alexander Woollcott. Loaded with their
legendary quips, critiques, and put-downs,
this musical traces the legendary skirmishes
around the famed Algonquin Round Table.
Titus
X : The Musical,
a new punk rock adaptation of Shakespeares
bloodiest tragedy, Titus Andronicus.
As much concert as it is theatrical show,
it follows the plot of Shakespeare's original
revenge play, while reveling in its own
absurdity.
New
York City will also be host to the following
